The news and searching tools (often marketed as intelligent agents), while having great potential given the explosion of information accessible on the Internet, pose an interesting problem. The problem is this: if many users have news searching "intelligent agent" tools constantly searching for information, isn't it likely that the Internet may be clogged up? It is likely that each person would have quite a number of these programs running in order to get a wide variety of information provide payment gateway for school. To fu

rther complicate this picture, there is also the possibility that these "intelligent agents" will be programmed with the capability to spawn other agents. Imagine if one of these "intelligent agents" had an error (bug) built in which caused the program to continuously spawn agents. What if each one of these spawned agents also spawned other agents?

Furthermore, it is conceivable that a certain number of the "intelligent agents" searching the Internet for information would get lost, that is, they would not return with the requested information to the entity which spawned them. Thus, one can begin see the technical dangers in having such "intelligent agents". They might create severe bottlenecks on the already crowded Internet.

The transition from the industrial age to the information age to the knowledge age is a continuum that is evolutionary. A final destination will never be reached since new knowledge and experiences are continually added and refined and outside forces can create a change in corporate strategy. Although there have been several definitions of knowledge management published, the one, which conveys the concept best in the context of this paper is by Malhotra;

"Knowledge Management caters to the critical issues of organizational adoption, survival, and competence in the face of increasingly discontinuous environmental change. Essentially it embodies, organizational process that seeks synergistic combination of data and information processing capacity of information technologies, and the creative and innovative capacity of human beings".

This definition not only recognizes the discontinuous environment but also the importance of both techno-centric and socio-centric approaches. The traditional view of knowledge management mostly relies on the prepackaged or taken for granted interpretation of the knowledge. Such knowledge is generally static and does not encourage the generation of multiple and contradictory viewpoints in a highly dynamic and ever-changing environment. The concept of "best practices" and "efficiency optimization" cannot provide the competitive advantage that companies may be striving for. This is where the concept of intelligent agents acting as catalysts of knowledge management is not only effective but also essential for the organization's survival.

According to Churchman (1971) "To conceive of knowledge as a collection of information seems to rob the concept of all its life …Knowledge resides in the user and not in the collection. It is how the user reacts to a collection of information provide payment gateway for college that matters." Intelligent agents can facilitate the process of filtering and reacting to information. Since they are heterogeneous, robust, fault-tolerant; and able to encapsulate protocols, adapt dynamically and execute asynchronously and autonomously; they can reduce the network load and overcome network latency, state that the rise in the use of mobile agent technology on the Internet will be due to several factors such as availability of increased bandwidth, need of technology to ease information overload, increasing need for individual customization to meet user expectations, increasing use of mobile devices, dependence of Internet technology by mobile users, and proxy sites which will provide for the specific needs of individual users.
