A landscape planner's role is to search for locations and analyze them, taking into account the existing ecological aspect and possible environmental issues. A landscape assessor evaluates the pros and cons of new landscaping projects. A landscape manager is responsible for analyzing and managing the long-term effects of any developmental features in the natural environment. A landscape scientist should have knowledge of soil science, botany and geology. He/she studies practical problems associated with landscape development. There are many institutes that offer landscape architecture courses for undergraduates and graduates. A landscape architect must have a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) or a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture (BSLA). Either will take four to five years of classes in design, construction techniques, art, history, and natural and social sciences. The three-year Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) option is for students who have an undergraduate degree in a field other than landscape architecture and intend to become landscape architecture practitioners. A five-year-or-more Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) is for students who do not have an undergraduate degree. These are usually students who major in landscape architecture and continue their studies at the same school or another accredited institute in the landscape architecture master's degree program. For people who want to conduct research in landscape architecture but do not seek to be registered professionals, other non-accredited programs such as the MA/MS in Landscape Architecture are also offered. Many landscape architects work on their own after gaining sufficient years of experience in the field. Thus, initially, one needs to gain experience by interning in the initial years and then working with an architecture firm to understand the finer nuances of job. Interning while you are studying is an excellent option to get some hands-on experience at an early stage of your career. A landscape architect works in collaboration with environmentalists, surveyors, foresters and engineers to design the best for the landscape. A landscape architect can work in real estate firms, site development projects and other municipality constructions like airports. Surprisingly, about 20 percent of landscape architects are self-employed, which is much more than any other field. London Architects / Architects in London / London Architect
