Ecommerce isn’t a new, contemporary business idea anymore. There are too many players for this game yet very few successful ones. One of the main reasons for that is undeniably, smart marketing. There is one approach that most of the marketers often ignore but with little efforts and vision, it’s the best way of all to send out emails.

It is Behavioral Email Marketing. And how do you do that?

It’s nothing but a practice of sending automated and personalized ema

ils based of the customer’s behavior towards your various channels, i.e., social media, email, website, etc. It is going to be an expected reaction from your end to their actions on your webpages. So the emails are very relevant. Isn’t it far better than sending generalized newsletters?

If you think it takes a lot of technical know-how knowledge to send targeted emails, you really must read this.

First, you should do a little analysis on ‘How do your customers interact with your business online?’

Impulse is great but when it comes to marketing, it’s always better if you take decisions after good research and study. Keeps your tabs on tracking your customers’ behavior online. Always send out trackable links to your customers and follow the numbers and graphs using them. For example, how many people are clicking on email links? which categories they are browsing? How long they spend on your site? Pending items to check out in the cart, etc.

Each one of your channels is a chance to listen to your customers. (Websites, Emails, Blogs, Social Media, YouTube, etc.) The more you gather the information, it makes your job easier to plan better triggers.

So, next time when you plan a campaign, ensure you opt for a service provider who gives you tools that can track your campaign performance, and monitor the customer’s online behavior.

Omevo All-in-one tool does that. Just saying!

Now you can use that information to trigger relevant emails.

Second, determine the user’s actions. The reason why behavioral emails work better than normal promotional emails is, they are expected by the customer. As per the module, the email blast happens when the customer took an initiative. Now it’s your turn to make it productive.

For example,

They’ve added some products/ services in their wish list, give them a confirmation email. Send them monthly report of store credits or orders or used coupons. Give them a reminder email regarding the items they’ve added in the cart and forgot to checkout. Send them email if their wish list products’ price has dropped or if they are on sale. If you have a blog, update them about a newly added read.

These are the emails customers would love to see in their inbox or at least it’s not unexpected. Don’t forget about tracking.

Third, send behavior based personalized emails. It shouldn’t sound like marketing. Your emails should always sound like a conversation. Address them with their name, talk about their last action on your webpage, give them a call to action, make the most of their given attention.

By know you might have got your head around the concept, but let me show you the intersection of those three components that makes your email campaign welcomed by the customer.

When you set up a behavioral email campaign, you are setting up a highly personal experience for the receiver. That is when a contact becomes customer. Unlike your usual campaign emails, these are supposed be impulsive and immediate. Automation is very important for this. But if you do a forecast of usual actions of users, create some expressive templates, you really don’t have to be there for every user’s every action. Talk to your email marketing service provider today!

You just need to enhance your strategy and use a software that’ll channel your intent to the customer in right time.
